The reactor building, centre, dominates the nuclear power plant in Bushehr, Iran, Wednesday Feb. 25, 2009. Iranian and Russian technicians are conducting a test run of the plant, a major step toward launching full operations at the facility, which has long raised concerns in the U.S. and its allies. The power plant, built with Russian help, is meant to be the first in a number of reactors for an energy program, but the opening of the 1,000-megawatt light-water reactor has long been delayed by construction and supply glitches.

In this photo taken Sunday, April 19, 2009, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki gestures as he speaks at a meeting at the Iraqi Interior Ministry in Baghdad, Iraq. Al-Maliki denounced a deadly U.S. raid on Sunday April 26, 2009 in the southern Shiite city of Kut, which left at least one person dead and six arrested, as a "crime" that violated the security pact with Washington and demanded American commanders hand over those responsible to face possible trial in Iraqi courts.
